        In
The Country: Losing Stones, Collecting Bones
        By MAT HERRON

         This
is what’s playing in the background during F. Scott Fitzgerald’s
great American novel were it made into a film updated for the modern millennium.
It’s tight and full of prim, properly played notes with an undercurrent
of barely detectable abandon. Late in the evening, the lover and the green-light
girl share a rapturous liaison; throwing off the corsets and choker neckties
only to wake up the next day, swearing they merely forgot themselves for
        a moment.
